With a life-long interest in art and antiquities, I discovered the artistic beauty
of antique purses some 20 years ago.  That serendipitous discovery led to my
becoming an avid collector!  Enameled flat mesh purses with their moasic-like
quality first drew my interest.  I was also fascinated with the soft watercolor
effect of silk-screened ring mesh.  While acquiring my first purses, I found my
schooling in metal arts was a natural fit for making repairs to purses needing
restoration.

An artist at heart:  I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with emphasis in
watercolor painting.  My degree includes applied studies in metal arts and
jewelry making.  I also have a background in fiber arts, and am proficient in a
variety of needle arts and fine hand sewing.  Other interests include travel:
with a focus on visiting world-class museums, world heritage sites, and
exploring European antique markets.  I also enjoy collecting and playing a
variety of antique musical parlor instruments.

I have done extensive research on the subject of antique mesh purses and
have a comprehensive knowledge of purse history, brands, construction, and
dating.  My purse reference library contains over 30 books, as well as many
books on related subjects.  Art Deco and Bauhaus influences are two of my
favorite periods in art and history, so I find a special connection in helping
preserve the beautiful mesh purses from these eras.  Most of all I truly love
the satisfaction that comes with restoring things of beauty!
